What it does
Loads your own songs onto an SP-1 running the original TE firmware.
Stock firmware. Nothing to flash.

One file per song. Not one per stem.
24-bit, 48 kHz, 8-channel PCM WAV.
Combined into a single file. Separate stems will not load.
Pairs in order: 1-2 is stem 1, 3-4 stem 2, 5-6 stem 3, 7-8 stem 4.
Missing pairs become empty stems. Anything past 8 is ignored.
Reopen the export. Eight mono tracks, all audible together.
Split with Demucs GUI, then merge with SP-1 merge.
Boot mode, then transfer mode.
The SP-1 must be powered down before you plug in.
Keep holding until the track 1 light comes on, then let go.
Click Connect and pick stem player from the list.
The loader switches it over and the track 1 light goes out.
Drag, order, label.
Drag your WAVs onto the window.
Drag a song by its track number.
Album title, song title, artist and BPM are all editable.
It drives MIDI clock, the gate effect and looping. 30 to 300.
Tempo is not detected. Put 66BPM in the filename and it reads it.
Slow. Plan for it.
One minute of audio takes about ten minutes to transfer.
The track 1 light blinks and audio is off.
Closing it, or letting the machine sleep, fails the transfer.
The SP-1 restarts, audio returns, and it comes back in basic mode.
Interruptions are survivable.
Click Abort transfer.
Finished songs carry a green dot and are skipped next time.
A red dot means it will go again from where it stopped.
Click the track number, then Include or Transfer song.
Click Skip and the next album transfer leaves it out.
Append only.
New songs go last. Transfer album again.
Remove a transferred song from the list and it gets overwritten.
Change the order and those songs must all go again.
Every song after a removed one is re-transferred.
The loader is writing blind.
One continuous block of data. Nothing to browse.
It cannot see, move or delete what is on the device.
The list is what the loader sent, not what the SP-1 holds.
Use another tool and the loader will not know.
Four gigabytes. Twelve megabits.
4 GB of storage. The loader stops you going over.
Empty stems are still written, so they still cost time.
Transfer time tracks song length, not file size.
USB 2.0 Full Speed, and the stock protocol tops out near 135 KB/s.
It is usually still in transfer mode.
Normal. It is holding transfer mode and cannot play.
Long press the function button.
Press it again.
With the tab still open it finds the device and returns to transfer mode.
A part-written song needs transferring again.
A warning about your computer, not the SP-1.
The icon says the loader lost the path on your disk.
Browsers cannot keep file handles across reloads.
Drag the files in again and they relink.
A private window keeps no track list at all.
